The Lending and Reference Libraries and the Archives at the Julian Centre, Norwich and COVID

We are committed to enabling borrowers and researchers to return to the Libraries and Archives and have therefore made arrangements for these to be open initially for a limited number of hours and with reduced capacity. The Centre will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 10.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.

The safety of our visitors and volunteers is of paramount importance and in order to maintain social distancing, the Centre will be introducing a range of new measures including pre-booking for seats in the Libraries. In order to book a seat, please telephone the Centre on 01603 767380 and you will be given an individual pre-booking number. It will not be possible to borrow books or work in the Libraries without pre-booking. You will be asked for your pre-booking number when you arrive.

Hand sanitiser will be available for both visitors and the volunteers and, as a precautionary measure, 2 metre social distancing will apply throughout the Centre.

We apologize but it will not be possible to have access to the Archives at present.
It will be possible to continue to contact the Hon. Librarian and Archivist by sending email via the Julian Centre website.

Please do not re-shelve the books but place these in the boxes provided for them. These are labelled RETURNED LOAN BOOKS and RETURNED REFERENCE BOOKS. The Librarian will clean each book before re-shelving it.
We will continue to review provision in line with Government guidance.
