ACCEPT

We must accept all that God has in store for us as individuals and as members of the body of Christ. God knows that this is never easy. One of the most difficult things in life I find, is to accept myself and far less to accept the voice and will of God. Sometimes acceptance casts a cross-shaped shadow over who we are and what we do. That’s when we need the friendship and companionship of each other most.  Above all it is when we need the practice of stillness, contemplative prayer, and imagination in our holy reading.  As we do this God forgives and refreshes us and prepares us for a renewal of mission and ministry. In our acceptance we do not seek comfort so much as the submission of ourselves to his will and asking for the strength to do it.
